During a classroom demonstration at Bayonne High School, I hypnotized three students, then—while they were still in the state of hypnosis—I asked them whether they thought they were hypnotized. I like to do this during my demonstrations to give the class and the volunteers the opportunity to realize that, although a person is deeply hypnotized, he/she can feel as though they are awake or not hypnotized.
