Hypnotized–But, She Doesn’t Know It
During a classroom demonstration at Bayonne High School, I hypnotized three students, then—while they were still in the state of hypnosis—I asked them whether they thought they were hypnotized. I like to do this during my demonstrations to give the class and the volunteers the opportunity to realize that, although a person is deeply hypnotized, he/she can feel as though they are awake or not hypnotized. Its interesting to see how people rationalize their behavior while hypnotized. Some people dont even realize they are hypnotized. For those studying hypnosis: Why do you suppose this happens? Hypnotized Fitness Trainer: Part 1–An Induction
An example of a hypnotic induction into a state of somnambulism. A much faster, more efficient induction could have been used during this session. However, in this video I use a slow, long one to demonstrate various techniques. For those studying hypnosis: Can you discern the following techniques used during this induction? –Fractionation (non-traditional) –Direct suggestion –Indirect suggestion –Non-Verbal suggestion –Convincer used as a deepener –Confusion phrasing –Compounding –Highlighting suggestions with inflection or gesture NOTE: This induction is a variation of traditional fractionation. Patrick Coleman’s Hypnosis Technique with Sean Andrews
Rapid Verbal hypnosis Induction for pain control demonstration. This clip, out of an interview with Sean Andrews, shows the speed a person can get numb. Sean is a well known hypnotherapist from Maryland. After spending a day sharing great information, we filmed one hour of material for future classes. This is the first time I hypnotize Sean so we have no pre-conditioning. Though I’m a bit faster than normal, knowing he is a hypnotherapist with his own experiences. My Jaw was broken by accident when I was five years old. After two years of pain my father trained me in self-hypnosis, so my life as a hypnotherapist was set into motion. By age fifteen I modified Gil Boyne, Dave Elman, Henry Munro my Father Richard Coleman and many other greats technique into my own approach, with a Fritz Perl flavor. It looks simple and I know I’m telling a lot of my secrets in this clip, yet more is happening in this two minutes than most realize.
